Playing with paper

Posted by

I absolutely adore paper crafts, from origami to making creative writings prompts or research projects for the children I work with. As it's currently October half term, I had a little extra time to play with paper and begin to create resources which I will share soon on this website.

Paper Cone Characters

Here are the first two Christmas cone characters. I think they look super cute! I am also going to be designing a snowman, elf, Rudolph and an angel to make a set. These were really simple to make and I think they would look lovely hanging on a class Christmas Tree.

Snowman Box

This is an idea I originally saw years ago during my Teacher training. It was a little fiddly to cut out, but I'm pleased with the finished result. These could be used to send small Christmas gifts home which the children could make. Again, I'm imagining this first design to be a part of a set to include Santa and Rudolph boxes.

There are loads more ideas which I'm toying with and am hoping to try out in the near future. I really do believe that we need to include as many creative elements into our classes as we can and hopefully these simple crafts will bring smiles to the faces of children, teachers and parents alike.
